Attention Students: You Could Win an Apple iPad!

10/19/2012

Win an Apple iPad just by completing the free online tobacco course!

We all know tobacco is bad for us? Why though? And knowing this, why do people keep using it? These are just some of the questions that the free online course, Be the Norm: Choose to be Tobacco Free will try to answer for students and student athletes. Better yet, every student who completes the course will have their name entered into a draw for one of two Apple iPads!

All you have to do is sign up at www.ASAAWeCoach.ca, add the free Tobacco course to your profile, and make your way through the course. It takes about an hour and it's as easy as that!

Courses on iPad or other mobile devices

3/13/2012

It is with great excitement that we can announce all future courses will be available on iPad's, iPhones, or any other mobile device. Current limitations to most tablets and smartphones prevent courses built in Flash (including our coach education courses) from running on those devices. But from this point on, all future courses, including the upcoming Athletic Injury Management and Be The Norm: Choose to be Tobacco Free courses, will be developed in what is called HTML5 and jQuery. User's will not see any noticeable differences in how the courses are presented, but will be able to access their courses on ALL their devices.

If you have any questions about device compatibility with our courses, feel free to contact  michael@asaa.ca.

Welcome to ASAA We Coach.ca

9/22/2011

Welcome to the ASAA We Coach Learning Centre - where you can access high-quality educational material for coaches. After almost three years of discussion, planning, grant writing and work by the ASAA staff, Executive and others, we are excited to announce the site is now live!

While initially intended for a school coach audience, it has become clear that the courses we have developed are equally applicable to the community and club coach – at all levels not only in Alberta, but everywhere. Initially there are three courses and this will expand to 6 by the end of 2011 (two will be free!) and additional growth beyond that. We are grateful to Rural Alberta Development Fund, Cenovus Energy and Alberta Health Services for their financial support

Feel free to explore the page. You can register by clicking the "Register" link in the top right corner of the page, and purchase courses by clicking on the "Courses" link in the toolbar.
